Close Enough Days

Close Enough was the one and only band in which I played. We called it our mid-life crisis classic rock band. It originally consisted of me on lead guitar, Jack Dalby on rhythm guitar, Gene Beavers on bass, and Terry Burcham on drums. Terry left after about a year and a half, and we added Jack’s brother-in-law, Marty Ranck, on drums. For our last few shows, we added Mike DiCarlo as lead guitarist, while I slipped into a rhythm guitar role, doing the occasional lead. This was my indoctrination into playing live rock and roll, and it was a blast. Maybe one day I’ll be able to locate one of our old 8mm video tapes and convert it to digital and share a performance or two.
